SPACE 242 proudly announces the second exhibition of 2008, HONOLULU DOGFIGHT & THE ILLUMINATED EYE, featuring illustrations by George Pfromm II. The opening reception, Friday, February 29, is from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Boston’s South End, 242 E. Berkeley Street, 2nd floor (Between Albany Street and Harrison Avenue), Boston. Mr. Pfromm will be present and artwork on view is also for sale.

Honolulu Dogfight & The Illuminated Eye, a body of work created over the past year, features a collection of over 4 dozen original brush and ink illustrations. Pfromm has created characters including the Tullycraft music video “Georgette Plays a Goth,” a character series for Fox Sports, Grogan & Bullethead, and the character “Queen Bee.”

Pfromm cites influences including Herge Andre Franquin, Alex Raymond, Milt Canniff, Chester Could, Robert Crumb, EC Segar, Tex Avery, Chuck Jones, Tom Oreb, Ward Kimball, and countless others. His illustrations have been published in The New York Times, The Portland Mercury, and The Stranger. As an animator, he has worked on children’s shows and educational content including Soup2Nuts and the show Time Warp Trio. In addition he has produced television commercials for advertising agencies. Mr. Pfromm lives and works in Somerville, MA.
